Count's AI agent is an intelligent agent that helps you analyze data and build insights directly in your canvas. It speeds up everything from exploratory analysis to dashboard development by understanding your questions and creating the cells and visualizations you need.

Who uses Count AI?

Analysts use Count AI to:

  • Surface insights quickly during exploratory analysis
  • Respond faster to stakeholder questions

What Count AI can do?

Count AI excels at broad analytical questions. Here are examples of what to ask:

Understand what's driving metrics:

  • "Why did churn increase last month?"
  • "Which segments contributed most to revenue growth this quarter?"

Surface key insights:

  • "What are the top insights from this dataset?"
  • "Are there any outliers or unusual activity I should know about?"

Compare segments or time periods:

  • "How do paying vs non-paying users differ?"
  • "Summarize the differences between this quarter and last quarter?"

Enabling Count AI

Count AI is disabled by default for workspaces created before November 17, 2025.

To enable Count AI:

  1. Go to workspace settings (you'll need Owner permissions)
  2. Navigate to "Other settings"
  3. Toggle on Count AI

Once enabled, any analyst in a canvas can use the AI agent. Owners can disable it at any time, which immediately removes access for all workspace members, any content produced by AI agents will persist.

How Count AI works

Count AI creates and edits cells in your canvas using:

  • Cached catalogs (recommended for best results)
  • Cached database cells
  • DuckDB cells
  • CSV files uploaded to the canvas

Important: Count AI never sends queries directly to your database. It only works with cached data sources.

Privacy and security

  • GDPR compliant - Count AI meets European data protection standards
  • No model training - Neither Count nor our partners (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic) train models on your data
  • SOC 2 accredited - Built on Count's secure platform
  • Controlled access - Count AI can only access metadata (column names, types) and row-level data from sources you explicitly add to an agent

Count AI uses artificial intelligence that may produce inaccurate or misleading outputs. Always verify results before making decisions or taking action. AI outputs are not facts and shouldn't replace expert judgment.
